Getting To The Root Of The Problem

This is the back of a High Street retail property.

Like many retailers, the attention of the occupier is on the shop and the shopfront. The rest of the building is neglected and largely disused. In the rear yard a tree has self-seeded and is growing in a crack in the concrete. It's so close that it has lifted the outside of the building and its roots have choked and damaged drains.

Nothing of this could be seen inside.
