It's Only Paper Isn't It?

This is the inside of a modern, well built warehouse which I inspected for an investor earlier this year. It's filled with rolls of paper for the print industry. On site, the Health and Safety File contained the Engineer's calculations for floor loading.

Cracks seen in the concrete floor resulted in a quick check which revealed that the floor was often overloaded by up to 30%. The purchaser went ahead as the issues were identified and resolved early.

The tenant now carefully controls stacking of paper to ensure no further damage results and is preparing to recast the damaged floor slabs.
